Saskia Brussaard, President
Saskia Brussaard is a seasoned public relations practitioner who has worked with a variety of multinational and Canadian companies, cooperatives, not-for-profit charities and foundations, patient advocacy groups, and food commodity marketing boards. She specializes in food/agriculture/nutrition, wellness/health/pharma and lifestyle/fashion/beauty.
Saskia has extensive experience in communicating nutritional benefits of food products and is passionate about helping Canadians adopt healthier habits. Recently, Saskia has provided counsel to the federal government on the subject of local food.
Over the years, Saskia has cultivated strong relationships with the media, including key editors at major daily newspapers and magazines, and previously worked as a freelance writer for Metro Newspaper, Corus Entertainment, and De Nederlandse Courant.
Saskia has worked closely with registered dietitians, culinary professionals, nurses, pharmacists, doctors and celebrities, and has identified and recruited many experts and spokespeople for PR campaigns.
Saskia is a member of the Ontario Produce Marketing Association, Women’s Culinary Network, Cuisine Canada, Women in Food Industry Management, and the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservice Association.
On behalf of clients, Saskia has worked the Canadian Culinary Federation, Dietitians of Canada, SIAL Canada, Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters, Baking Association of Canada, Guelph Food Technology Centre, Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology, and the Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Health Check Program.
